3 Things I learned About Starting Over

Hey You,

Been awhile since I’ve written.. thought I’d touch base a bit 🙂

In the 8 months I’ve moved to this new city… I’ve worked for a startup, started a blog, dated in New York, fell out of love with the blog, quit my job, and run away from Mexico. Feel like I’ve been all over the place, but now… in this moment.. I am excited about pressing the restart button for one more time and sharing my journey.

How to Start Over…

1. Let go of failures

They are anchors preventing you from moving forward. If it doesn’t serve your goal, get rid of it. I spent a lot of time feeling guilty for not seeing my first blog idea through and instead of releasing it from my heart, I wasted a lot of time wishing I sought it through.

2. Where you spend your time is where your passion will be.

Compared to 37% of Gen X & Baby Boomers, 57% of millennials want to work for something other than money, fulfillment. It’s ok to not know what you want to do with your life, but if each day is like a penny… where we give our time is where we find our passion. I started spending time reaching out to people I looked up to. Connecting with them over coffee and finding inspiration in their passion. When you find a mentor, it makes your dreams feel possible.

3. Say “No”

When I first moved to New York, I think meeting up with friends and being social should have been added to my resume. I would spend hours in traffic to make that 20 minute Starbucks date. Playing off of #2… investing time in others is more for them then it is for you.

I still need to be reminded of these three nuggets.

So next time I see you please remind me 🙂

With love,
Caila

Firstly, I think Ben missed out by not picking you. Secondly, I know you dodged a bullet and got very lucky for not being caught in the love (?) triangle. Enjoy life you deserve it. You’re too good for that show and it’s obvious.

I checked your blog out after checking out Lauren’s, Ashley’s, and other Bachelor ladies’ respective blogs–I just want to congratulate you on how much more well-developed and integrated your blog is! Truly. It is a total slap in the face for other professional bloggers who put time and effort into creating and maintaining their blogs when some people, who happen to have face recognizability, claim to be bloggers but only put up a couple poorly written posts a month. I appreciate that your blog is not like that, instead, the hard work you have put into it shows! Keep up the good work and I hope you continue to showcase why you are head and shoulders above many of the other bachelor alum!

You seem like the most sweetest, & down to earth person from watching you on the bachelor and bachelor in paradise and this blog of yours surely shows that! You were my absolute favorite on the show! You inspire me to be more of myself & to feel confident of where I’m standing! :))))) it would a absolute dream come true if you responded to this or messaged me on Insta, it would mean you really are as nice as you are on television! @okokrose

Before you can let go of your failures – you have to learn the lesson from it – so hopefully you won’t make the same mistake. I like that your blog isn’t just about make-up and clothes. Feels more like a back seat to your journey. Thanks for keeping it real. Best wishes to you and your new blog
