What is collagen? & Why do We Need it For Youthful Skin? —- 6 Weeks with Olay Collagen Peptide24

This post is sponsored by Olay.

Let’s face it…we’re not getting any younger, and neither is our skin. This truly hit me a month ago when I turned 29 years old! 🙈 After this past birthday, I started researching what I could do to prevent wrinkles and my face giving away my age. And here is what I learned… we need more collagen!

Ever feel like your skin has lost its firmness? I didn’t realize this, but our body’s natural collagen production starts to decrease in our early 20s. I know, earlier than we thought, right? But don’t worry, Olay’s new Collagen Peptide24 Hydrating Moisturizer boosts collagen production to help combat this and keep our skin feeling fresh and nourished for years to come!

What is Collagen?

Collagen is a protein that holds the body together. In fact, it comes from the Greek word kolla that literally means glue. As the building block of bones, skin, and muscles, it gives your skin its firmness. So, when you naturally start producing less of it you see your skin start to sag. In addition to age, too much exposure to sunlight and eating an excessive amount of sugar and refined carbs can damage collagen as well.

Why I Love Olay Collagen Peptide24

This past December I turned 29 and was seeing the reality of my 30s being just around the corner. I promised myself that I was going to do what I could to make sure my skin stays hydrated and youthful. After doing some research I learned about collagen and its effects. I knew I needed to get my hands on a collagen cream, but with so many on the market, I was left debating which one to choose? That’s when I came across Olay’s Collagen Peptide24 Moisturizer. I’ve always been a fan of Olay and knew I could trust them to make a product that actually works.

And it did work! I’ve been using this the past 6 weeks and have truly seen a difference. I apply the moisturizer all over my face and neck every morning and night. My skin has that youthful glow again and those fine lines that were forming are gone. The fragrance-free cream is nice and creamy – I especially love that it doesn’t feel too oily. Olay’s formula features small molecules of collagen so that it penetrates the skin’s surface, rather than others on the market that use collagen as an ingredient that is too big and just sits on the skin’s surface, which isn’t effective.

The best part of it all, though? Olay is affordable without compromising any results. I didn’t have to dole out hundreds of dollars on a moisturizer I would only use a handful of times. When searching, I saw other collagen products ranging from $100-$400. You can easily pick up a jar on your next shopping trip to the drugstore. Olay Collagen Peptide24 Moisturizer is a creme I genuinely love and know I’m going to use for a long time.

Adulting is all about taking care of yourself. The older I get, the more I try and incorporate one new healthy habit a year. Lately, these have been mostly about my skin. Year 28 was conquering my acne. Year 29 is now being consistent with my moisturizer and reducing fine lines. What is a healthy habit you want to improve on this year? Maybe we can hold each other accountable and both wake up with clear skin we can’t wait to show off.

Caila, does your mom use the same cosmetics as you? Because her face appears youthful. Tells how she does it?
I’m Filipino too and my husband is American. They say our as Filipinos we appear younger than our men. So tell me your “secret”? (lol)

    BTW:
So glad you found your partner for life. I have watched the Bachelor shows from day one. I was so proud that Filipinos were finally selected as contestants. You should’ve been selected after your season as the Bachelorette. But I guess that wasn’t God’s plan. You wouldn’t have meet Nick. Your are both a treasure. Many blessings!😇
