New York City Park Picnic

Leaving New York City after living there for almost 6 years was a huge leap of faith and while I know we’re exactly where we need to be here in Austin, there is a part of me that will always be a New Yorker. My closest friends (even 1/2 of my bridesmaids) still live there which gives me a wonderful excuse to visit once a year! After Teddi was born, I knew I wanted my closest girlfriends to be able to meet her in a fun, non-stressful setting. I used to host Central Park picnics all of the time, but now that I have a baby I couldn’t imagine hauling all of the blankets, food, and drinks on my own – so I booked the most stunning picnic planners, Picnic and Peonies, to help out. It was literally the most relaxing gathering just showing up along with my friends to light bites, lemonade, and candy treats!

Why host a picnic party in New York?

I personally love taking advantage of the beautiful parks in New York City! I think it feels like a movie to meet up with your friends and slow down on a patch of soft grass. Plus I love that they are free! If you host a party at a restaurant you usually have to pay for a minimum or rent out a room which is quite pricey in Manhattan. The Picnic and Peonies team has done hundreds of picnic parties in New York from birthday brunch picnics to girlfriend gathering celebrations – they helped me find the perfect park. More details at the bottom of this blog post on their packages and pricing!

Teddy Bear Candy Party Favors

One of the cutest party details that they came up with was the Sugarfina candy favors with superglued mini teddy bears attached. This handmade detail that daintily sat at each place setting was such a warm and sweet welcome. They were so cute and it felt like such a personal touch!

Best NYC Picnic Location

We chose Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City for our Sip & See with my New York friends! It felt like the perfect spot because of its proximity to downtown as well as the breezy location with lots of shade from trees!

This picnic experience was truly everything I could have hoped for and I’d really recommend Picnic and Peonies to anyone for any occasion!
