The champagne is bubbling in anticipation with New Years right around the corner. In years past, I have celebrated in festively simple gatherings with close friends and a fire. The clinking of full drink flutes count us down hour by hour. One of my favorite New Years traditions is the layering of food and fun until the big 3…2…1…
New Years Countdown Party
9pm
With 3 hours till midnight, play charades or other games in teams of three.
Appetizer of the hour: 3 Little Pigs in a Blanket
(Personally not a fan of hotdogs. A great substitute would be cooked turkey bacon wrapped around arugula & brie croissants)
10pm
Still 2 hours to go. A photo booth set up for doting pairs to take pictures in front of – polaroid pics a must!
Drink of the hour: Goody two – shoes
(Add two wedges of oranges, limes, or lemons to the edge of each drink)
11pm
Only 1 hour left, share one memory from this past year that you will never forget.
Dessert of the hour: One of a Kind-bar
(Break up Kind bars, mix with cookie dough, & bake or crumble up Kind bars on top of your dessert of choice)

After a busy holiday season with family, I like adding a little sparkle to something simple. With this being my first New Years in New York, I’ll be warming up in a V neck sweater – maybe a layer or two.
