My Everyday Makeup

I remember the first time I popped off the cap of a black liquid eyeliner and drew on a sleek cat-eye. It was for my Eighth grade Homecoming dance and it was also the first time I was allowed to have a boy pick me up. I felt so beautiful with just a few swipes of mascara, eyeliner, and a dash of blush. Since then, I’ve continued to use products that enhance natural beauty in my everyday looks.

My love of beauty products began at a young age watching my mother put on her makeup in the morning. I carry that love with me today now that I choose products for my own daily routine. After years of trial and error, I’ve finally found the products that are perfect for my skin to keep me feeling confident and beautiful all day long.

Today, I am dumping out my makeup bag and showing you guys what I use to accomplish a light, sun-kissed look in just 15 minutes. These are my daily go-to’s that never fail me!

Step 1: Moisturize with Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer

• Give your skin the attention it needs and always moisturize! I used to be afraid that moisturizing would make my skin too oily, but this oil free solution leaves my skin feeling radiant and glowing.

Step 2: Apply a thin layer of Benefit POREfessional Primer

• Primer is another product that people skip but shouldn’t. This primer gives my face a nice, smooth surface to apply the rest of the makeup to and keeps my makeup last all day long.

Step 3: Dot on NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under eyes, on my Cupid’s bow, and on any dark blemishes

• I use the shade “Custard” to lighten up my under-eye circles and accentuate the curve in my upper lip. It’s also a great spot treatment for any pesky blemishes you want to hide!

Step 4: Apply Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer all over face

• A tinted moisturizer is a must-have for a light-makeup makeup look. This provides a dewy, light coverage look with SPF 30 so you can be protected when you’re out-and-about. I simply use my fingers to spread it, in shade “Sand” or 3N1, evenly over my face.

Step 5: Use MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Blurring Powder Foundation

• Applied with my biggest and fluffiest brush, I use this powder to take a bit of the shine away, focusing on the T-zone areas. I use the shade Y315.

Step 6: Bronze it up with bareMinerals Original Foundation

• I use the shade “Neutral Tan 21” of this powder foundation as a bronzer. Using my second biggest brush, I lightly apply to the tops of my cheekbones and nose for a sun-kissed look. By adding a darker, contrasting color, your face goes from one-dimensional and flat to dynamic and accentuates your beautiful bone structure.

Step 7: Time to flirt with MAC Powder Blush on the cheekbones

• Next, I take a smaller round brush to apply blush in the shade “Pinch Me” to add some natural-looking pink hues.

Step 8: Highlight with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish

• Then, I take a fan brush and apply highlighter in shade “Soft and Gentle” to the tip of the nose, highest point of the cheekbones, and cupid’s bow to accentuate and brighten the face with a natural glow.

Step 9: Fill in the brows with Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade

• Love a full brow look and this pomade does just the trick! (shade: medium brown for me) I use the angled brush side of the applicator to outline and shape the brow, followed by filling in with upward strokes to simulate little brow hairs. Then, I use the spoolie side of the applicator to brush out the gel and blend.

Step 10: Draw on eyeliner wing with STILA Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner

• My #1 favorite beauty product of all time is this liner that my mom used on me all those years ago for my Homecoming dance! Over a decade later, I’m still using STILA’s thick tip to create the perfect cat-eye.

Step 11: Sweep on some BUXOM Lash Volumizing Mascara

• If I don’t have extensions, I love using this mascara to create long and voluminous lashes. This completes my eye look, as I typically don’t wear eyeshadow during the day.

Step 12: Pucker Up & line those lips with a MAC Lip Pencil

• Lip liners are the secret weapon to looking put together 👏🏻 They take your look to the next level by defining the lip shape and lasting longer than your average lipgloss or lipstick. I use the shade “soar” to line and fill in, then use just a typical chapstick over top to blend the color and moisturize my lips.

Step 13: Set it all with NYX Setting Spray

• For our final step, we’ll lightly mist a setting spray to hold makeup into place. Holding the bottle a few inches away when you mist to gives your look a dewy finish and make it last all day long!

After completing these steps of my daily makeup routine, I feel confident and ready to take on the day! I wanted to share these products with you in hopes you may find something you like and that makes you feel like your best self too.
