French-Style Flower Field Maternity Shoot

Photo session inspired + shot by Austin photographer Kristin La Voie.

I just got my maternity photos back & to say I am in love with them is an understatement! Shot and inspired by the talented Kristin La Voie. She brought all my visions to life and went above and beyond any idea I could have had! Her work is amazing and she goes into such depth for details for each of her clients. If you are in the season of engagement and have a wedding coming up she is definitely someone you need to keep in mind. Her portfolio is amazing (seriously, go take a look at her work).

With spring right around the corner, and the fact I am having a beautiful baby girl, I knew I wanted this to be fun and all things girly. These pictures will be photos I look back on years from now and one day show my daughter.

For my look I decided to go with a blush pink and neutral vibe. I wanted the over the top, large and camera filling dress style. If I could go to the grocery store and cook dinner in this outfit, I would! Instead, I am usually in sweatpants and all things cozy these days. I bought my beautiful gown in a color that matched perfectly with my dress and the field where the photos were taken. I recommend ordering ahead of time because it does take a few weeks to ship and arrive to your house. This option and this option would be great pieces if you are trying to recreate this look on a time crunch! My dress from skims was amazing because it was so simple and really gave the robe gown a moment to shine. The final touch to this look was my straw hat and I loved how I got to bring the boho look & feel into this shoot. Although this robe is very glam, I loved the idea of making this shoot so casual and fun as if I was actually just picking flowers!

My makeup look was done by me! I love trying new ideas for my makeup but today I went classic. I started out with my Dibs contour stick with bronzer on one end which defines my checks and blush on the other side! Next, I move onto my face which is the Laura Mercer tinted moisturizer with the concealer on top to brighten my under eyes. I seal it all in with the IT Cosmetics powder. This cheek palette is the perfect final touch of the face to add a bit of glow! The final touches to this look are my brows and my go-to lip liner.

For my hair, I start out with the DryBar brush. It gives me the lasting volume and looks like I just got my hair professionally done! To curl I go in with my curling iron and pin the curls in place (holding them for at least 15 minutes is the key to make them last in the wind) and then I always make sure to curl away from my face. I feel as if it gives off the wind blown look easier, especially will all the volume from the blow dryer!
