Check out Miraval Resort and all the great things they offer!

Nick and I wanted to take this one last mini vacation as our babymoon. The purpose of our babymoon is to celebrate the very anticipated birth of our first born! We are so thrilled and wanted to take a few days to really connect more as a couple. This was the perfect place to do so, and I can’t wait to share the details with you all!

Why a Babymoon locally – in Austin?

Nick and I have dreamt about visiting the Miraval Austin Luxury Wellness Retreat property ever since we moved to Texas! After receiving great news that I was pregnant, we thought a local babymoon would be the perfect opportunity to unwind and reconnect by booking a stay.

I love that it is a phone free all-inclusive property that leaves you with time to reflect and be intentional. With it being a well-ness retreat property they have dozens of activities on property you can sign up for that are meant to calm the soul and rejuvenate the spirit. From a trust-building rope course in the trees, horseback riding, cooking classes, to tours of their local farm – visitors really get a chance to be present. Nick and I, during our stay, signed up for so many activities that I can’t wait to share with you!

Why Babymoon at the Miraval Austin?

In 2003, The Crossings opened as a spiritual oasis for curious, health-conscious people and businesses. In 2019, the Crossings was reborn as Miraval’s second wellness resort. Miraval Austin has 13 three-story lodges spread across the property that each house eight to ten rooms or suites. Our room had the most beautiful views. Living in Austin, we knew the best times to visit were during the spring months of March-May or the fall months of September-November.

Miraval Austin’s trademark experiences include equine activities, farm and garden explorations, and excursions on Lake Travis. And you won’t want to miss Miraval Austin’s Challenge Course. The core question of Miraval’s philosophy and approach is- what’s your intention? If you’re looking for a reconnection getaway with your spouse or friends this is the place for you. It’s also a perfect spot for relaxation, self connections, spa experiences, outdoor adventures, culinary lessons, or even finding solace in grief and loss. The possibilities are endless and it’s a great place to combine all of these activities and experiences in a weekend getaway or a annual trip for yourself.

My Favorite Miraval Memory

Nick and I would leave our cell phones in the room and use the day to reconnect as a couple. We popped by the smoothie bar for free green smoothies before holding hands during a walk through the Miraval Labyrinth. I had never done a labyrinth before, but Nick explained that you were supposed to start with a problem or thought in your heart and slowly walk through the labyrinth pondering that thought. Since we did this exercise as a couple, we made it a little fun and decided to talk about what we are thankful for the past year as we walked into the middle. And on the way out of the labyrinth maze we talked about what we are hopeful for for this next year with the arrival of our first baby. We both are so busy in our normal day-to-day lives, so it’s been a while since we asked each other deep big picture questions. Absolutely loved this moment in the woods and I can’t wait to make this a tradition when we want to reconnect.
