Milk & Cookie Themed Baby Shower – Decor, Games, & More!

It’s baby shower time! Wow, how did we get here so quick? At 31 weeks pregnant I flew to Cleveland, Ohio for a family celebration for baby girl. We are truly so grateful to my mom and her friends for putting together such a memorable shower. Honestly walking through the door my jaw dropped at how stunning and well-thought-out this Cookies & Milk-themed party was! From the DIY Cookie Recipe favors to the 15 ft tall balloon pillars – it was a day we will never forget.

Milk & Cookies Baby Shower Theme

Deciding on a theme was first on the list. We wanted it to be unique! There are so many adorable baby shower themes like moon & stars, sunshine, baby in bloom garden and so many more. I love neutrals and I wanted that to be included, with a few pops of color. Nick & I chose milk and cookies because I have such a sweet tooth haha. Once we decided on the theme we needed to pick our invitations. I felt like these were how we would show our family and friends the theme of the party! After searching for so long for the perfect invitations we chose customizable ones from Etsy. The reason we chose this one was because it had the simplistic, neutral vibe that I love. Also the fact that we could completely customize the invitations + other things we would use (keep reading to see all the things) was such a plus!

Baby Shower Decor

We are so excited to be having a baby girl! So of course the decor needed hints of pink. When choosing balloon colors for the balloon arches – we started by picking matte balloons that added to our cookies and milk theme. Wherever you place a balloon arch is a focal point of the room, so we chose to place the balloons next to a large white wall with wonderful natural window light for a great place for guests to take photos. I loved how open this place was and we could have a sit down seating area for our guests.

Cookies & Milk Party Favor

Party favors are my way of showing appreciation to all the family and friends who came to my baby shower and showed their love towards my baby girl! I wanted to stick with the theme and share something special with the guests. We decided to first have a DIY recipe jar- that way guests could take the jar home, make the cookies and also have a recipe for keepsakes to continue to make over the years! My mom and her friends had a ladies night that was spent measuring the recipe, scooping ingredients into the glass jars and labeling them with the home made recipe labels- that fit our theme perfect and matched the invitations!

On the favor table for our guests we also had cookies in milk cartoons (how cute!) that my mom’s girlfriends baked! Those milk cartons were also used as table place cards, so guests could take home both the milk carton table cards with the cookies + the recipe. Also- this recipe is amazing and so yummy if you are wanting to try it out for yourself or even a party you have coming up.

Guess Who… Mom or Dad? Baby Shower Game

We loved playing this game since it was a co-ed shower and everyone was able to play! It was a quick game that took 10 min tops & kept the party moving & guests laughing! Before the host read off answers, both Nick and I (as mom & dad) sat in chairs in the middle of the party so everyone could see us. And as the host read off each question, mom or dad would stand up if they were the answer. Below is an example of the print out we handed each guest to circle – mom or dad!

So here’s how to play:

  1. Hand out the “guess who” sheets to guests, along with a pen for them to mark their answers on who they think would be the correct answer for each question.
  2. Once all guests have filled out their sheets it’s time for mom & dad to come forward and reveal the answers.
  3. While answers are being revealed and laughter is filling the room this is such a fun and intimate way for your friends and family to get to know you and your partner better.
  4. Collect all the sheets after the game is over & make sure guests write their names on their sheet. This way you have another memory to add to your baby box to reminisce on one day down the road!
