Dear New York,
You were there for me from the beginning. Before my man, and marriage… there was you. Late night walks & honks hello, you gave me the space to grow into my own person. You’re even more of a romantic than me, because you taught me how to love myself. For that I will always be grateful. But now after 5 years, I have to say goodbye & make room for a new wave women eager to be entranced by your sky-scraping beauty.
I promise I’ll visit, of course I will. And I know you’ll move on, like you always do. But you will always be a part of me. That tough, no-nonsense, driven, forever-a-dreamer part of me. Miss you already.
With love,
Caila

Hi Caila! So excited for you guys to embark on this next new chapter! My fiancé are about to embark on a new chapter of our own as we are moving NYC in a month! We are starting to look at apartments and I am absolutely in love with yours! Will you be keeping the apartment when you move? If not, do you plan to share info if people are interested in the apartment? Even just knowing the area the building is in would be great as we are also looking in Brooklyn! The best of luck to you and Nick! Cheers to new adventures!

I’ll miss getting to vicariously live in NYC through you since my visits are always years apart! Can’t wait to see where life’s adventure takes you next. But I also have to say, my immediate thought was, “you guys just got your West Elm room done!” Life’s funny that way. ❤️

hey caila! i’m about to move to nyc for school and was wondering if you had any advice/recommendations for taking on such an intimidating city
Author
Hmm.. I think the best thing I could recommend would be don’t be afraid to say “no”. It will keep you very busy with friends, school, etc. – don’t forget to make time for YOU!
