5 Cold Weather Essentials You Need in Your Closet

Getting dressed during winter is truly a game of… let me guess how many layers I need to wear so I don’t freeze to death. 😂 Within the first 5 seconds of brisk air hitting your face out the door, you can hear your thoughts in your head affirming your outfit choice or…. instantly wishing with all your might you chose that other coat!

Living all of my life in Ohio and the Northeast, I feel like I’ve seen every kind of apocalyptic blizzard!! But if you have the appropriate clothing you actually get to enjoy the snowy wonderland instead of focusing on those shivers. So after years of collecting piece by piece of winter gear, here are my…

TOP 5 STYLISH COLD WEATHER ESSENTIALS

1. Canada Goose Coat

This might be the priciest article of clothing in your closet, but once you commit – you’ll be wearing it all winter long! Designed for extremely cold conditions, I love the puffy warmth of my Canada Goose wether walking to our Brooklyn Trader Joes to prepare for a snow storm or snowboarding down a blue diamond in Vermont. I chose the shorter length bomber for a sporty look, but love the length on this one as well!

2. Yummie Turtle Neck Bodysuit

By far the BEST bodysuit I’ve ever owned! I have three in my closet and feel like it an easy uniform that is sleek, sexy, and most importantly warm. I recommend the white turtle neck for that winter Aspen look that bleaches easily. Highly recommend adding this staple to your closet.

3. Spanx Moto Faux – Leather Leggings

I probably wear these at least once a week – they are so comfortable! The material is super cool and has this an edgy twist with the moto-seams on the side. The best part – they suck everything in.

4. Insulated Duck Boots

I am a newbie to Duck Boots, but all I can say is… “where have you been all of my life?!” I used to think thick socks inside rain-boots would do, but the warm lining and quilted pattern are cozy beyond belief. DSW has some cute and affordable finds, sharing my favorites if you scroll down below.

5. Pom Pom Hat

A soft knit hat is a wonderful touch for your stylish winter look. Keeps your heat warm as the snow falls, plus your friends or boyfriend will be able to find you with the cute pom pom on the top to stand out.
