Brands I Love: Show Me Your Mumu
I first fell in love with Show Me Your Mumu after seeing Becca Tilley romp around in one of their printed wrap dresses during my season of The Bachelor. It was feminine and free flowing just like her beautiful personality. I needed to find out where it was from and, after doing a little more research, fell in love with the brand and their story.
Founded by a Southerner and a Californian who relocated to NYC, the girls realized the clothing currently in their closets just wasn’t cutting it when it came to finding a fit that was flattering, girly, but also comfortable. Mumu was born to provide loose-fitting yet cute clothes that allows your body to breathe whether you’re on a trip to Miami or trying to stay cool in the middle of July. Any other sweaters out there?! 🙋🏻 I love the idea that an outfit doesn’t have to be tight-fitting to stand out -- a print can speak for itself. I couldn’t help but think, “I need to be a Mumu girl!” and fell in love with all of the pieces I tried for myself. Now based in California, Show Me Your Mumu is reinventing the boho Cali look and I’m so excited to be bringing it to Brooklyn.
STYLING TIP: BRINGING CALI TO BROOKLYN
When you don’t live in California, you might feel out of place wearing some of the bright colors and boho styles in your day-to-day life. There are tons of ways to style Cali brands that people sometimes forget – the key is layering! This neutral polka dotted jumpsuit spoke to with its versatility as a great addition to any spring wardrobe. I’ve paired it with a white, short-sleeved body suit and some cream DSW booties to give it that NYC edge. This is a great way to reinvent your wardrobe and make a piece wearable in your own city rather than just being an item you take on vacations. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t have the California beachy hair, you too can be a Mumu girl!
MAKING THE LOOK YOURS
The best part of this easy, breezy brand is that it works for every type of body under the sun. Show Me Your Mumu has something for everyone to find clothing they love. I’ve picked out some of my faves below for you to style at home this season.
SWEATERS FOR SPRING
I couldn’t have fallen in love with Show Me Your Mumu at a more perfect time. I happen to be traveling to Los Angeles in a couple of weeks and found pieces that are just perfect for my trip. I’m going to show the difference in styling in the warm vs. cold weather, so, keep out for more Mumu to come!
Big thank you to Leah Lou Photos who flew all the way out from Nashville to play pictures with me!
